We hope this update finds you and your family in good health. Our community has been through a lot over the last few months, and all of us are looking forward to resuming our normal habits and routines. While many things have changed, one thing has remained the same: our commitment to your safety.

Our team at Fun Dental Care is excited to welcome you back starting June 1st, 2020. We are proud to let you know that we have been constantly updating ourselves with the newest regulations issued by OSHA, CDC, California/Santa Clara Department of Public Health as well as guidelines from ADA, CDA, and the Santa Clara County Dental Society. Your patience is greatly appreciated as we implement following new protocols to ensure the safety of all our patients and our staff.

In order to minimize people to people interaction and follow social distancing rules to protect all patients and the staff, we ask for your help on the following:

  1. Prior to your appointment, you will receive a prescreen call from us. If you missed the call, we will send a prescreen text message. Please make sure to reply with answers at your earliest convenience. If you are sick or experiencing any symptoms of illness, please call 408-260-8283 to change your appointment.

  2. When you come to your appointment, please present yourself at the entrance, and someone will walk you in and direct you to treatment area, keeping in mind social distancing rules.

  3. Please wear a mask when you come to your appointment. All patients and visitors must be masked while inside our office. Our staff will let you know when to remove the mask for treatment.

  4. Unless a patient is under the age of 18 years old, needs accompany due to medical reasons or needs an interpreter, we ask that only the patient presents him or herself to the appointment.  All other people accompanying patient may wait in the car or return later to pick up.

  5. One of our team members will take your temperature prior to taking you to the treatment area.

  6. Once you are in the treatment room, we ask that each patient rinses using the anti-bacterial mouthwash and wash their hands prior to being treated.

We are committed to the health and safety of our patients and staff, and we appreciate your help in preventing the spread of infections.  We want you to know that we have taken additional steps beside the above to keep you safe while visiting our office .

  1. We reduce patient flow and extend appointment time to ensure adequate social distancing of our patients.

  2. Our team is performing frequent disinfection of all high-traffic surfaces such as door handles and counter tops.

  3. We have instituted mandatory employee health screening/temperature check at the beginning of each clinical day.

  4. Doctors and assistants change gowns for disinfection and dispose any disposable personal protective equipment (PPE) after each patient. Before seeing the next patient, everyone on the treatment team disinfects their hands throughly and put on new gowns and gloves for treatment.

  5. We have installed specially designed High Volume Evacuation equipment to reduce aerosol spread.

  6. True HEPA air purifiers and HEPA filters for central AC  have been installed throughout the entire office and aren in full function throughout any clinical day.

  7. Each treatment room is thoroughly disinfected in-between patients. A remote-controlled germicidal UVC light is turned on in-between patients in each treatment room for highly effective air disinfection.

We will continue to monitor the CDC and OSHA agencies for any new guidance and recommendations.  Your health and safety is our top priority. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact our office at 408-260-8283.

Thank you for being our patient and your continued confidence in our office.
